First Edition of Robert Capa Awards in Aitona

OBJECTIU

L'honor historical memory by increasing scientific knowledge of the Civil War in the lands of Lleida. Coup '36 was beginning of civil war that, for three years, struck Spanish and Catalan society. From l'Aitona City Council i l'Institut de Ilerdenc Studies, we seek works that build this history and cover possible gaps and shadows in the overall narrative. The Capa Awards aim a highlight people, documents, i works que contribueix a aquest aspect, especialment regarding el Segre Front of the Spanish Civil War. CATEGORIES

  1. Award per a aquest author photograph en present wars s prize of €2,000 and a commemorative trophySpecific bases
    • Participants mai submit a maximum de 2 colors o black and white photographs. Photo montages or retouched photos no s'accepten.
    • Les imatges submitted no es poden fer durant 2 anys després de la data d'avís announcement i no hi ha cap prize.
    • Works should be submitted with the name, ID, address, phone number, and email of the author(s).
    • Interested individuals or legal entities can submit their works electronically (graphics and photos in JPG or high resolution) to capa.aitona@ajuntamentaitona.cat or on paper a l'Aitona City Council per September 15, 2024.
    • If submitted to the town hall, imatges must be 30 x 40 cm in size. Photographs will be returned to their authors if not awarded.
    • Participants mostren una declaració de responsabilitat en acord amb les regulacions europeas specifying que les imatges submitades no creen mitjançant l'any artificial intel·ligència sistemes o tècniques per distortar la imatge real.
    • El jury mai declara els awards void or add a special mention or honorable mention, as well les resolve any unforeseen issues no covered in these bases.
    • The Aitona City Council va acollir la receipt of works and it only contact the winners and finalists.
    • La imatge de la imatge i la finalització d'imatges són part de temporada exhibició per a sis mesos de la data d'arribada, a l'location decidida per l'estadi. Subsequently, les imatges es poden col·lectar per authors a l'Aitona City Council.
    • Awarded individuals cànot reapply for the Capa Awards until 2 years after receiving the award.
  2. Award per a una bona recerca en la Civil War per a preus de €2,000 i commemoratiu trophySpecific bases
    • Participants mai submit a single research work que no excedeix 100 pages.
    • Works must be presented printed on one side (DIN-4 vertical) and in digital format (horizontal presentation mai be used when required by charts, graphics, photographs, etc.).
    • Margins: Top and bottom: 2,5 cm. Left and right: 3 cm.
    • Format: Font. Preferablement useu single font type (recomaneu Times New Roman, Arial, Calibri, Trebuchet) in the following sizes:
      • Title: size 14 bold. Text: size 12 regular
      • Footnote and table and figure captions: size 9 regular, or les correspons a la col·lecció font or program configuration.
      • Paragraph: Alignment: paragraphs s'han justificat amb both left and right margins.
      • Line spacing: single space in paragraph body and 1.5 space between paragraphs.
      • Spacing: automàtic o 0 pt.
      • Page numbering: en la font semestre es fa servir, situat al centre o més d'una manera de la pàgina.
      • Taules and Figures: numbered consecutively with Arabic numbers. Even if created with other programs, they must be inserted in Word.
      • Footnotes: cal que estiguin placedes on la pàgina següent, indicada, amb consecutiu Aràbic numbering.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

La rellevància i l'originalitat proposal, la coherència i el rigor en la metodologia de les tasques, la contribució i l'advancement de les studies en la memòria històrica són valuades.

JURY

The Aitona City Council appoints a jury of up to six people, made up of experts in the field. Josep Maria Solé Sabaté (PhD in Contemporary History UAB). El director de l'IEI va ser part del juri a les categories, com a council per a cultura i heritage de l'Aitona City Council. The secretary will be the same as that of the City Council. En la seva categoria, el juri està inclòs Ms. Sandra Balsells (photojournalist), Francesc de Déu Sans (journalist i representatiu de Lleida Journalists' Association), i Roser Vilallonga Tena (press photographer). They will avalua't the proposals and select the winner and six finalists. Deadline for decidida winners will be October 30, 2024. Then it will be announced on social networks, the web, and the media of Lleida i will be published in the BDNS. En la segona categoria, el juri és també inclòs Mr. Víners i finalistes s'announced en November 7 per jury president, and award ceremony will take place before December 4. Capa Conferences, and future editions of the Awards. If the authors wish to publish them, they must reference the award given by the Aitona City Council and the Institute of Ilerdenc Studies. All prizes are subject to the current tax legislation. Participació en aquest call implies total acceptació de les bases i del juri verd. Attendance of winners at the award ceremony is mandatory. During the ceremony, the winners will have the opportunity to present their works and the process they followed to create them. Amb l'event, el jury expliquen les evaluacions de les awarded works i les seves contribucions a la memòria històrica i la importància del grup general, reading les sessions minutes.
